Art Objects/Collections Marketing/Lease
Great art both engages the mind and uplifts the spirit. This has a particular
relevance to business people. In the contemplation of the magic of art,
the worries of the hour or concerns about the future give way to peace
of mind, providing a natural relaxation that serves to recharge the mental
batteries.
Another of art's great delights is its infinite variety, offering a huge
menu of subject, style, interpretation, form, color, and texture to satisfy
every individual taste.
For most people, access to the supreme pleasures of the masterpieces
of past and present requires a trip to a museum or an exhibition. The
common perception is that great art in the home or in the office is available
only to a handful of the rich and collectors.
Not so. In 1975, Artique Aoyama Gallery was founded for the purpose of
bringing original but affordable art of the European tradition to Japan.
The radical change in Japan's urban domestic architecture, from independent,
relatively spacious Japanese style dwellings to smaller mansion style
living units meant that many people could no longer accommodate the larger
antique Japanese screens and scrolls of old. Mansion life style" much
more naturally lends itself to the hanging of smaller sized, European
style oils, watercolors, lithographs and drawings, and to the display
of ceramic ware.
The Artique Aoyama Gallery maintains an internal/external marketing force
that deals with sales and art-learning to individuals as well as to institutions.
A smaller group concentrates on handling art exhibitions and offers art
treasures to museums throughout Japan and the world.
The 1980 saw the start of our Art Lease business. This original approach
to art marketing has become increasingly popular as it allows a much
broader section of the art-loving community to enjoy a piece of their
choice by leasing it for a period of from one month to two years. As
an additional incentive, art-leasing is fully tax deductible. We also
offer a free art valuation and consultation service.
The Artique Aoyama maintains a collection of some 2,000 art pieces representing
the work of over 500 artists of international status. We hold the most
extensive collection of modern print artists in Japan, alongside a substantial
collection of oil painting and other art-media. The collection includes
works by such giants as Turner, Renoir, Picasso, Klee, Miro, Chagall,
Dali, Buffet, Laurencin, Foujita, Brasilier, Cassigneul, Jansen...also
Japanese Hanga masters such as Hokusai, Utamaro and Hiroshiga...
